The NSW Department of Education is undertaking a program of renewing the entries, landscaped spaces and outdoor learning environments of public high schools. A small number of schools were selected as pilot projects to test elements and strategies before a larger future rollout of the program commenced.
Bennett and Trimble were invited by the NSW Government Architects office to develop designs for the entries at Moorebank High School and Beverley Hills Girls School in metropolitan Sydney as part of this program. A series of elements were developed including folded steel portals that could be adjusted to accommodate the varying site and programatic conditions of future renewal projects.
