Competition: 1st Place.

The project provides new facilities for the Gold Coast Council, including a Performing Arts Centre, Visual Arts and Heritage Centre, cinema complex, restaurants, city council accommodation, significant parklands and an integrated pedestrian and bicycle network for the city.

The island is created by cutting a new canal across the site, consolidating the program in a centralised area. Connections are made back to the city and the remaining site is liberated as parkland.
