Bennett and Trimble practices architecture and urbanism. The partnership was established in 2009 by Matthew Bennett and Marcus Trimble to contribute to a broad range of projects, from large strategic masterplans to minor interventions in the public and private domain. Current projects include a new research and teaching building for the University of Sydney, a multi-residential project in Surry Hills, a number of masterplans for Urban Growth NSW and Landcom, and various projects for the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Bennett and Trimble is prequalified under the NSW Government Architect’s Strategy and Design Excellence Scheme.

We do not bring a preconceived understanding or approach to a project. We work with the various stakeholders to understand the problem and bring a broad conceptual and diagrammatic clarity to projects to produce an unexpected and excellent outcome.

We also enjoy collaborating on large and complex projects with major and specialist firms. Recent collaborating partners include Grimshaw, JPW, Hill Thalis, SJB, JMD Landscape and the NSW Government Architects Office.

Matthew Bennett and Marcus Trimble are active participants in the architecture profession and were selected to present their work at the Sydney Opera House 40th Anniversary Design Symposium, the 2009 Australian Institute of Architects National Conference and the City of Sydney Architecture on Show talks at the Surry Hills Library. They have taught design studios at UTS, the University of Sydney and UNSW.
